"Always a Part of the Land" with Dr. Cody Groat

Join us at the Woodstock Public Library to celebrate local artisans, businesses, and cultural groups at this year's Culture Days.

Dr. Cody Groat will speak about his new book "Always a Part of the Land: The Federal Commemoration of Indigenous Histories", published by McGill-Queen's University Press. Groat looks at how the cultivation of a nationalist narrative has shaped Canada’s federal relationship with Indigenous Peoples. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Commonplace Books from Ingersoll will be selling copies of Dr. Groat's book on the night of the program.
